Default Mouselook?

Is there actually a way to "lock" the game in mouselook mode so that you stay that way without having to hold down the right mouse button? If so, where is it and what's it called? This may seem a silly question, but after looking for it before and not being able to find it, someone mentioned in another thread somewhere that you could do it. Can anyone help me out, here?

Didn't you already suggest it here?

I'm not suggesting it, I'm asking if it has it. That thread was a suggestion for a targeting reticule, but someone said that they thought the option to permanently lock yourself in mouselook was already in the game, so I'm asking for confirmation on this and, if it's there, what it's called and where to find it. I'd have simply posted in that thread again, but it's been made clear that suggestion/speculation threads aren't welcome, so I thought it best that I leave that one alone and just ask in the Q/A forum.

I wondered if there was a way to lock it too. Last BWE (which was my first) I looked for an option to turn mouselook on permanently and didn't see it. Then I got used to holding right-click all the time.

Since then, I realized that permanent mouselook would make it very difficult to use the game's mouse-friendly UI ... at least for me. But if anyone knows where it is in the options, I'd be interested to try it out.

What would be the benefit of a targeting reticle though? As far as I can tell, success in GW is not based one's ability to aim ...

It would be to target in FP mode witout needing the mouse arrow.

A targeting reticule would make it possible to target things easily while locked in mouselook. Most of the time, particularly during combat, I prefer to play the game FPS or TPS style, using keys for skills, etc. and staying in mouselook.

Bump.

I pray every day that Guild Wars will add a mouselook lock or a mouslook toggle on/off feature. I and my carpal tunnels syndrome would be VERY happy as a result.

Holding the right mouse button down for about 90% of my gameplay for 3 or 4 hours per session is taking a toll on my fingers/wrist.

I am so desperate, I am even willing to use a third party program (if there is any such animal).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have had it lock itself into mouselook a number of times. I click to activate my skills though so I find it annoying. I have never purposely done it and now trying to replicate it I can't figure out how I have been accidentally doing it. If I figure out how Ive done it before I will post it.

I've found remapping my "a" and "d" keys to strafe left/right nad the "q" and "e" to make the camera swing left & right really, really helps in the area of not needing to use the right mouse button to look all the time. Take a bit to get used to and I still use the right mouse look in heavy battles but for general adventuring it works really well.

May be a silly idea...but why not tape the mouse button down, or tie a little weight to your finger so all you have to do is either a) let the tape hold it down, or b) rest the weight on the button and remove when needed? Yeah, bad ideas, who wants to fuss with everything....but hey, simple problem, simple solution? I myself never had this problem before, though...good luck with it

All I do is hold the right mouse button first then click the left mouse button and the camera locks behind, all you gotta do then is press C to target, space to attack (release left mouse button) and numbers to cast spells! It can hurt your wrist and hand but its rare for me.
